Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: April 30, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses Reel Resumes. Violations can result in content removal, account suspension, or account termination, in our sole discretion. This AUP is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service.
1. Account responsibility
- You must provide accurate information at signup and keep it up to date.
- One account per person, or one account per company for employers.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old. We delete accounts found to belong to minors.
2. Prohibited content
You may not upload, post, or transmit content that:
- Is illegal under applicable law in Canada, the United States, or your jurisdiction.
- Promotes, threatens, or glorifies violence, hate, or harassment based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Is sexually explicit or contains nudity.
- Depicts a minor in any context that is not clearly safe.
- Infringes another person's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property.
- Includes malware, exploit code, or links to phishing sites.
- Reveals private personal information of others without consent.
- Is materially false in a way intended to deceive — for example, a fake job posting or a video impersonating someone else.
3. Video-specific rules
- Real face required. Job seekers must record their own face. AI-generated avatars, deepfakes, masks, or composite videos of other people are not allowed.
- No third parties without consent. Do not record identifiable third parties in your video without their explicit permission.
- Keep it work-relevant. Videos should focus on your professional fit for the role.
4. Prohibited conduct
- Impersonating another person or company.
- Scraping, crawling, or systematically collecting data from the Service.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to derive source code, except where allowed by law.
- Bypassing or attempting to bypass rate limits, payment requirements, account limits, or security controls.
- Sending spam, mass messages, or unsolicited recruiting outreach.
- Using the Service to discriminate, defraud, or harass.
- Probing for vulnerabilities except under a written agreement with us.
5. Job seekers
- Apply truthfully — your application should accurately reflect your skills and experience.
- Apply only to jobs you are interested in. Do not mass-apply.
- Treat employers professionally even when an opportunity isn't a fit.
6. Employers
- Post only real, available roles you intend to fill.
- Comply with applicable employment, anti-discrimination, and accommodation laws (including the Canadian Human Rights Act, Title VII, the ADA, and provincial/state equivalents).
- Do not screen, filter, or reject candidates based on a protected characteristic — race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, family status, or any other category protected by law in your jurisdiction.
- Do not use applicant videos or contact information for any purpose other than evaluating their application.
- Do not redistribute, publish, or repurpose applicant videos outside the Service.
- Treat applicants professionally and respond in a reasonable timeframe.
7. Reporting violations
Use the Report button on a job, video, profile, or message to flag content that violates this AUP. Or email trust@reelresumes.com with the URL or account in question and a brief description.
8. Enforcement
We review reports and take action that may include warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent termination. We may share information with law enforcement when required by law or when there is an imminent risk of harm.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
